Andrew Butt Trio + will perform works from their 2017 release Blueberry Ash. The Queensland Music Award nominated album is comprised of themes inspired by Brisbane and its surrounds featuring prominent members of Queensland’s jazz community. Andrew is an award-winning performer, composer and educator with accolades including a Queensland Music Award, a Churchill Fellowship and performing as a jazz soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He has toured throughout Australia and internationally to Indonesia, Fiji, New Zealand, China, Europe and North America and has studied with a diverse range of artists including Tony Hobbs, George Garzone, Chris Cheek, Bill McHenry and Branford Marsalis. Utilising the classic guitar trio setting the band will navigate originals and arrangements of lesser known standards. The band sound emphasises all elements of music and utilizes cross genre vocabulary. Aaron Jansz is a graduate of the Jazz Music Institute (JMI), Brisbane.
