15 incredible jazz artists will take the stage tonight at the Brisbane Jazz Club, to celebrate the 2024 UNESCO International Jazz Day - the world’s largest celebration of jazz globally. “This day is intended to raise awareness of the virtues of jazz as an educational tool, and a force for empathy, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people.”

Come and join us as we celebrate with these incredible artists: Dan Barnett (Sydney - trombone/voice/shells), Steve Newcomb (piano), David Bentley (piano/voice), Kellee Green (piano), Shelley Bishop (sax), Peta Wilson (piano), Adam Lopez (voice), Gareth Jones (piano), Andrew Shaw (bass), Samuel Vincent (bass), Paul Hudson (drums), Nathan Goldman (drums), John Parker (drums), Andrew Butt (sax) and host: Ingrid James.

DAN BARNETT QUARTET Headlining will be the inimitable Dan Barnett (Sydney) on voice/trombone and shells. “He is a natural bandleader with the personality and charisma to charm the most demanding of audiences. KELLEE GREEN TRIO Jazz pianist and teacher, Kellee Green, will premier original works from her upcoming album Home, featuring Samuel Vincent on bass and John Parker on drums, with special guest, Andrew Butt on saxophone.

DAVID BENTLEY TRIO David Bentley is an award-winning jazz pianist, vocalist and songwriter and leads DB3, a swinging, spirited and multi-faceted lineup with Andrew Shaw (bass) and Nathan Goldman (drums), that focusses on David’s original material, but also brings fresh harmonic interest to blues and jazz standards - as well as delivering a unique take on classic New Orleans grooves. He has recorded several albums of original material and is known internationally as a songwriter. David holds journalism’s most prestigious award, the Gold Walkley.

SHELLEY BISHOP QUARTET A spirited and “uber” talented multi-instrumentalist and producer, Shelley Bishop has worked at the legendary Chicago Recording Company alongside acts such as Kayne West, Chance the Rapper, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga and Mavis Staples. She has had the opportunity to work on GRAMMY award-winning releases and holds a Masters of Science in Leadership for the Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University (Chicago), as well as a Bachelor of Music Business from Elhurst University (Chicago), and an Associate Diploma of Music from Trinity College, London. Shelley will perform with Peta Wilson (piano), Andrew Shaw (bass) and Nathan Goldman (drums).

ADAM LOPEZ DUO Opera trained singer, Adam Lopez, has captivated audience worldwide with his Guinness World Record-breaking high notes and multi-octave vocal range. He has spent the past couple of decades singing pop, Latin and jazz, while maintaining his passion for the classics, particularly with a countertenor repertoire. Prepare to be astounded by his versatility in adapting his voice to different genres and amazing vocal agility. Tonight, he is joined by Gareth Jones on piano.
